If you are looking for a great way to explore the Cleveland area, Painesville Townships a great area to start from, because that's where you will find Painesville Township RV rentals from Cruise America, ready and waiting for you.
There are a countless number of attractions to see in Cleveland, one of them being the Emerald Necklace Park. You can get your running shoes on, climb onto your bicycle, or stroll casually amidst a scenic 60-mile long string of beautiful parks and garden areas. If you and your family are nature lovers, you will enjoy the fishing, swimming, hiking, bike riding, golf, horseback riding or picnicking that is there for your enjoyment in this seemingly endless park. It's referred to as the Emerald Necklace because it circles the Cleveland area from the northwest to southwest to southeast to northeast. You may also wish to see the North Chagrin Reservation, the West Side Market and the Lake View Cemetery, just to name a few of the hundreds of attractions in Cleveland.
If you want to escape the big city and head out on a great daytrip, consider a visit to the Ohio Amish Country located just east and southeast of Cleveland. There are several Amish communities, but one of the most visited, however, is the area of Walnut Creek in Holmes County, located just two hours south of downtown Cleveland, and directly southwest of Canton. As you roll into this scenic town, you will find that about half of the Amish families living there speak German as their in-home language. One of the most pleasant times to experience this country is during the spring planting season, the harvest season and Leaf Turn. The holiday season in December is also a great time to visit, as well as the maple sugar season in February and March.
Just about an hour west of downtown Cleveland is Cedar Point in Sandusky. This is America's largest roller coaster park, known as the "roller coaster capital of the world." For those who aren’t up for the thrill of the coasters, there is a water park, shows, arcades a beach, and all kinds of attractions for the kids.
Located just 25 miles east of Cleveland is the historic town of Kirtland. Here you will find some of the best historical perspectives, as well as the best hiking in northern Ohio. Kirtland is the home of the historical LDS Kirtland Temple. This area is where the Mormon Church saw the establishment of their church, as well as their basic doctrines. You can also visit the Holden Arboretum, which is amongst the largest and best in the nation. Another attraction in the Kirtland area is the Lake Metroparks Farmpark, named by USA today as one of the top 10 best farmparks in the country. Here you will experience the farm life as you milk cows in the dairy parlor, navigate corn mazes and watch dog-herding demonstrations.
The beauty about all of these places is that there is an abundance of RV parks in which you can set up camp should you decide to stay more than just a day. And that is one of the beauties of RV travel, is that you follow your own schedule and itinerary, not someone else's.
