TIPS FOR CROSSING THE BORDER ON YOUR CANADA MOTORHOME VACATION
Visas are not required for US citizens on a Canada motorhome vacation unless you plan to work or stay for more than six months. There is a good possibility that you will be required to present a passport starting January 1, 2008 to reenter the United Sates
- Be aware of recent changes to identification requirements for US citizens crossing the border. According to the US Department of State, all US citizens without a US passport will need to show a driver's license plus proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate or naturalization certificate.
- Children under age 16 traveling to Canada without their parents or guardians will need written and notarized permission from their parents.
- Non-citizen permanent residents of the US must present their Alien Identification Card (green card) at the border.
